Illinois Symphony Orchestra

Under the leadership of Music Director Alastair Willis, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra is central Illinois’ largest professional orchestra, serving over 35,000 patrons in the communities of Bloomington-Normal, Springfield and the surrounding region with symphony orchestra concerts, chamber orchestra concerts, and Concerts for Kids. 2014-2015 marks the 22nd season of critically acclaimed music making by the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. SAA Collective

Featuring the fine art of over 80 of our talented local artist members, the SAA Collective holds regular rotating exhibitions at the H. D. Smith Gallery in the Hoogland Center for the Arts. Artists work in a wide variety of media including ceramics, photography, drawing, watercolor, fiber, glass, jewelry, sculpture, pastel, mixed-media, painting and woodworking. The gallery is free and open to the public. SAA Collective is a division of the Springfield Art Association, committed to fostering community awareness and participation in the visual arts while providing support for local emerging and professional artists.

Springfield Art Association

The Springfield Art Association began in 1913, making it the city's oldest visual arts club. The SAA campus hosts the School of Art, the Michael Victor II Art Library, the SAA Gallery of Art, and the Edwards Place Historic Home. The SAA mission is to promote and support the advancement of the arts, provide educational opportunities for the greater Springfield area and also preserve the historic Edwards Place House and the collections of the Association. The SAA also organizes community programs such as Art Outreach in local schools and community events such as the annual Fine Art Fair in September.

Springfield Ballet Company

The Springfield Ballet Company (SBC) is a civic, not-for-profit ballet company that has been entertaining & educating area audiences since 1975. Offering three major productions at the University of Illinois-Springfield Sangamon Auditorium each year.

Springfield Theatre Centre

Local theater at its best with a variety of entertainment each Fall, Winter and Spring with Summer performing arts camps for children.

Studio on 6th

Looking for one-of-a-kind artwork? Studio on 6th is an art co-op featuring jewelry, Artsy Threads Clothing Boutique, home decor and garden art made fresh daily by 60 local artists. Products include repurposed, funky, whimsical, vintage, trendy and more.

The Legacy Theatre

The oldest theatre in also the newest! Built in 1951, and reopened in 2011 after the dark days of dormancy, the Legacy Theatre is Springfield's new home for entertainment. Broadway musicals and plays, live musical events and concerts, comedy, film, lectures and even events for children - all find a home at The Legacy Theatre.
